About

After driving about and photographing the province for the last twenty years in my other business what has struck me repeatedly is both how much food and drink there is in Ontario and also how hit-and-miss it can be finding out about it. There is the Ontario wine and beer that you never see in the LCBO and Brewers' Retail; farm markets everywhere; a surprising number of quality butchers selling naturally raised meats; chefs across the province embracing farm-to-table; pick-your-own farms the entire family can enjoy and so on.

The aim of foodOn.ca is to give you access to all of that information and also give you a much better appreciation for how good we have it here. You may be looking for a farm market in Ottawa, reviews of wineries in Prince Edward County or planning a trip to Niagara where you'd like to visit a couple of wineries, pick-your-own fruit, pick up some artisan cheese and buy some grass-fed beef for the barbecue on the way home. Here is an easy way to do all of that.

After our initial site launch we will be, in a short period of time, adding much more functionality. In the interim, I hope you will visit often and comment freely. We will be taking your suggestions, using them to improve our ideas and then feeding them to our programmers. We plan to make foodOn.ca, whether you live here or are just visiting, as useful and user-friendly as possible and give us all the opportunity to explore and enjoy the "terroir" of Ontario.

Cheers!
